I also just noticed the long shadows on the milkhouse. You can see MomH taking the picture. Must have been late on a summer's day.

I don't know the story about the calf or why he's in the picture. I think *shakes cobwebs* that's a calf GrandmaH bought for her precious Steve, aka The Second Coming of the Almighty Only Child (otherwise known as my father), so when it was ready to 'go on a truck ride', li'l Steve could make some money.
