Bacon Cookies!
Since I apparently have insomnia (yay), I thought I would post this gem I was otherwise going to save for this weekend. But since I have nothing better to do than lie around and hope slumber finally finds me, I'll see if my scanner works well for newspaper articles. Because I'm not so awake I feel like typing it out. Yet.
This is for those bacon lovers out there. I know who you are. When you make these cookies, let me know how they turn out!

[this is greasy goodness] Bakin' with bacon? Is there a problem with this?
And on an unrelated note - don't you think that insomnia/staying up late puts you in sort of another world? It's sort of like being on holiday. Oh, you'll pay for it tomorrow, but still...
Bacon is so amazing and these actually sound quite good. Bacon is great drizzled in syrup and eaten with blueberry pancakes, no reason it wouldn't work here.
v. yummy. extra-extra-greasy. but not potatoey-chipey at all.
bacon cookies? I'll pass. I'll let lurker do the taste test.
Thanks for all the nice thoughts - I was able to finally get to sleep and stay that way until a few minutes before my alarm went off. I'm on my third cup of strong, black tea right now.
I agree. Someone *cough* Lurker *cough* should step up and do a test batch.
Amy needs to go by the restaurant and eat one.
It appears to be the basic choc. chip cookie recipe with the addition of a small amount of cherries and bacon.
The bacon pecan brittle to go mentioned in the article sounds really, really yummy. I lof pecans too.
Maybe I will go check it out for myself. I'll buy a cookie, and therefore not commit to having to get rid of the other 35 I'd have to bake.
And if I do, I'll pick up some brittle for you.
Yeah, the 3 dozen sugary fatbombs sitting around the house kinda put me off even before I remembered the oven. And it's not like regular cookies that you know you can get rid of.
