Finally - a Cool Breeze
Instead of helping out a friend by being in his student movie this morning, I'm having my air conditioner repaired. I came home last night and realized it wasn't blowing any cold air. Just what I wanted to deal with at 8:00 p.m. on a Saturday night.
I called my friend to apologize as I knew I was going to be dealing with this. He asked if I could wait to the afternoon, but as of 10:00 p.m. last night, it was already 90 degrees in here. I feel so bad for letting him down but there's no way I could let this go longer. Plus, I would have been in the movie with my old crush, Lemon Seed Guy, and I was kind of looking forward to seeing him again.
Miss K invited us over to her place last night but I didn't know what would be more stressful to Elvis, being hot or being in a new place. I thought we could tough it out through the night and Elvis and I slept in front of the fan and on top of a collection of cold packs. It seemed to help a little.
The repair guy is on the roof and the unit just kicked in and is kicking out cold air. That's some really expensive air, too. This is not a good month for my finances. Now I'm waiting for my car to get jealous and do something to get its share of money and attention. That's always how it seems to work.
Elvis is doing fine today. His good moments still far outweigh the bad and still seems to be happy and fairly comfortable.
It's been a pretty crappy week for me so I think I'll go back to bed and enjoy my expensive air by taking a nap.

Aaaack! what a nightmare, your a/c going out in AZ in the summer. I'm glad they were able to come by so quickly and take care of it. Yay for Elvis having more good moments than bad. I'm sure it helps knowing how loved and cared for he is. you deserve a cool nap (so does Mr. WW), enjoy it.
I have to get my a/c units (and the one at the office) serviced. It's been on my to-do list (even if it was just in the to-do list in my head...) for a few weeks now.
We're in triple digits from here on until September. It was 106 yesterday. There was no way I was waiting until later today.
If it was just me, I would have gone to Miss K's house last night and had this fixed later. But Elvis would have stressed too much being in a strange place, so time was a factor.
The money hurts, but yes, it was what needed to happen.
I'm sure your friend understands, broken AC in AZ is an emergency!
