Go STATE!
My cell phone went off and I saw it was from my parents. Oh geez, what in the world has happened that they are calling me in the middle of the day, middle of the week? That doesn't happen.
Mom "Hi! Michigan State just beat Maine in the semifinals for hockey. They'll be in the championship game on Saturday! Maine scored two baskets - I mean goals - in the first period and never scored again. Oh, and it's 30 and snowing."
What is great about this is the game couldn't have been over for more than a minute or two. So for Mom to call immediately was really cool. They haven't forgotten about me after all, way out here in the desert.
*warm fuzzies*
Comments
Yep. *big smile*
I'm the biggest hockey fan in the family and have been to quite a few Frozen Fours when MSU has been involved.
It was just so nice to know they were thinking of me. I get left out of a lot of things - "Oh, I suppose we should have told you we were going to do a big 40th anniversary party with all the relatives. You probably would have flown back for that, wouldn't you? I guess we just didn't think of it." Um, yeah. Thanks for letting me be a part of the family...
But back to happy thoughts...
I try to give my kids lots of space, but I know they still like to know I am always thinking of them!
I love the phone calls. Often during an MSU game we will call each other after a score and just holler Woohoo!!!
Go State!!
