Killing Fields, Cambodia (not for the easily queasy)

It just leaves you feeling raw inside and out, how people can do these things to other people. I like that you really understand where "explicit language" warnings are needed. Never have understood why sex is "dirty," while violence and brutality are considered "clean."

This is powerful. My hope is that people read this and keep it in their hearts. These stories, no matter how horrible, must be told. We can't let this ever happen again.
Nothing I say will feel adequate, except that these kind and beautiful people have lived through hell to let us know they are like us.

I first read about Dith Pran in Reader's Digest in an article about how his story was portrayed onscreen by Ngor Hang in The Killing Fields. I feel sick to my stomach everytime I hear such tales.

Good point, RedZ.

damn.

*sigh*

I've been doing more reading up on this today. I just came across this. They claim to have membership all over the world. Obviously it's a cheesy little site, but just the thought of it is disgusting.
There are some who deny the Holocaust ever happened, I suppose this shouldn't be a surprise. Or someone who bought in completely to the ideology. How awful. I am glad you found it, though. It's good to know what forces are at work in our world.
While the movie was pretty intense and moving, it wasn't nearly as horrifying as what you've described here.
