Snooping and Scooping
An undisclosed friend of mine was wandering around the Biltmore Resort this morning to see what he could see. I'm assuming security will be a little tighter later on.
This is less than a mile away from where I work. The Biltmore is a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired hotel (I heard that today, I thought it was really his design), which to me is fitting location for the McCain party place since FLW is remembered as an unpleasant man with a wicked temper.
As with most FLW designs, it's not spacious. There's barely enough room for the press and with a max capacity in the ballroom of just over 200 people, most of the revelers/weepers will be hanging around outside or in the conference center.
I will be trying to score a spot at nonpartisan party at the Wrigley Mansion, hosted by some local politicos of both parties. It will also be a fundraiser for my departed friend Stacey P's son Jack's education fund. It's on the hill directly above the Biltmore, so my friend and I are headed over early so as to get out of any traffic jams. Heck, we could even walk there from here if we had to.
If we can't get in (and who would turn us away, really?), I'll head downtown to the Arizona Dem's Obama party where some other friends will be. My friend is a Republican so she'll just go home if we can't get in. Or we'll split the difference and go to a bar. It's all good.
