Since Arbed scooped my usual daily post of Savage Chickens, and I don't feel like posting pics of me in my sweet Great White North headware collection (now I have a toque and an umbrella hat!), here's my salute to my neighbors to the North, courtesy of Cakewrecks!
"The finger hole was the result of an over-eager guest, but that "leaf" is pure Wreckerator skill at work. Kinda looks like a monster on a Popsicle stick, doesn't it? Eh?"
And a salute to the National Fabric:
Have a great one, my Canadian Friends!
(Everyone else should have a great day, too!)
(Because I think I have a lurker from the Great White North - Hi Rob/Sid! Hope you make it out again next year!)
Happy Canada Day!
You all are fantastic and its great to count you as my friends.
In your honor, I will sport an authentic Canadian toque. You can fight amongst yourselves in regard to proper spelling.
Thanks again to BA for the hat! I'm always up for a party. Global diversity rocks!
Some of you may remember the tale of the pan-continental Sock Monkey Pajama Escapade for Brown Amazon. I tracked down this elusive cotton blend simian deep into the Sonoran desert of the American Southwest and emerged victorious.
Here is a dramatical re-enactment of our email exchange:
BrownA: Oh, AmyH! How ever can I repay you for your genorosity?
AmyH: Your happiness is my reward, dear BrownA. Nothing more is necessary beyond your gratitude.
BrownA: But I must!
AmyH: If you insist, please make a donation to the good folks doing good work at your local animal shelter.
BrownA: I will! I will! But there must be something more I can do! Allow me to share the wondrous bounty of my beautiful country. We have delectable ice wines and sweet, pure maple syrup. Would either be of joy to you?
AmyH: My friend, those gifts are far too magnificent for the likes of your humble servant. Instead, if you were to come across a simple toque, emblazoned with the spirit and pride of your land, that would suffice.
**end dramatization**
Imagine my delight when I find a package awaiting me from the Great White North. Whatever could it be? Is it? Oh, yes! A genuine toque - says so, right on the packing label!
I hastily ripped open the package to find this lovely card from Brown Amazon.
Joy! A genuine, bona fide, Canadian stocking hat (as we call them here in the USof A).
As the card reads, "You won't need it to stay warm, but maybe it will keep the scorpions away!"
I can only hope, BrownA. I can only hope.
A thousand thanks to you. This is fabulous.

Since I was honoring one of my Canuck Vox Peeps, I thought I would go ahead and give a glare to David Bobavid...
