What have you been putting off all weekend?
My to-do list. In its entirety.
Okay, maybe I'm not THAT bad, but I can't vacuum in the living room because Elvis is in there sleeping. He's too cute and sleppy to move.
I also can't decorate my fridge with postcards because I have no tape.
But I do have the time and motivation to take and post pictures of my cat and my refrigerator. Huh.
Anyway, I've been fairly productive all weekend. I should go grocery shopping but it's so darn hot I don't feel like stepping outside. I walked to church this morning and was really woozy and light-headed by the time I got there. It was probably due to not eating breakfast and my low blood pressure, but I still hitched a ride home anyway. I think we're supposed to be 110 or 111 today. Blarg.
Okay, enough of this goofing off. I should probably get back to checking things off my list.
Sweet Misery laid it down. I'm picking it up. Here is the front of my refrigerator.
The only thing I love more than sending postcards is getting postcards. This doesn't even scratch the surface of my collection, but these are some of my favorites.
The St. Bernard postcard from Switzerland was actually addressed to Elvis. It says,
"Dear Elvis,
I hope that this card's photo doesn't frighten you. I have been told that these dogs are actually very nice, and when you are lost and thirsty, they will let you drink from the little thing on the large dog's neck. Delicious.
Cheers! (say hi to Amy for me, ok? Thanks!)"
The Standing on a Corner in Winslow, Arizona card is the only one that's actually mine. On a lark, a friend and I made a day trip up to Winslow to stand on the corner. As fate would have it, a few days after we made plans to go, I scored a free ticket to see the Eagles in concert. I wasn't an Eagles fan before, but I do have a new appreciation for them.
